Balloon and Promise Ceremony/ Hat and Promise
This is where the friends of the boy or girl, will blow up 10 balloons, either on the day or prior to the day, and inside each balloon, they will place a promise ( these are often very funny) inside each balloon, they will then be tied to a string, and on the day, the boy or girl, will pop these balloons, and they will read out to everyone, the promises they will make, now they are an adult.. This can be adapted to Hat and Promise ceremony, where friends will write a promise, and the Boy or Girl, pulls them out of the hat and reads them out.
Announcing in of Boy and Girl into function room/ ballroom ( Maybe with Dhol Drummers)
I think it is nice that the boy or girl comes in with all of their friends and maybe parents also, maybe to the sound of Indian Dhol Drummers who will bring them in, with some background music also, everyone loves this!! I can hire the Drummers for you.
Card Ceremony
A blank card, will be given to the Boy or Girl, in order to write a memory of their big day, and a year later on their first anniversary, they will see what they wrote... ( A Card can also be given to the mother or father also, and they can all be opened at the same time )
Open Forum on Speeches
This always fun, I generally run a 15 Minute session of an Open Microphone, and who ever wants to say a few words to the Bar or Bat Mitzvah and Families can do. This is always lovely and memorable, as friends, family and others speaking with bring back so many memories, especially when looking back on your DVD.
Memories of the Boy or Girl
I will go around to some members of family and friends, to ask them to write something funny about the boy or girl, since they have known them. I will later on read them out, in order to reveal what was said, it is often very funny.
Messages from friends What the Bar/ Batmitzvah can do
The Bar/ Bat Mitzvah, have just turned 13 and 12 respectively. A Notebook will be given to the friends in order to write something funny, now he or she is a man or lady..........
First Dance Scoring - Mum and Bar mitzvah or Bat Mitzvah and Dad First Dance
The First Dance scoring is brilliant, This is where either the Mum and Bar Mitzvah Boy or Father and Bat Mitzvah girl have there first dance and i then ask 5 volunteers, to write on the paper provided, marks out of 10, at the end of the dance, they then reveal there marks, and ask them why they awarded them for example 8 out of 10.
Cake Feeding and Champagne Ceremony
This is when the boy or girl are invited to cut the cake, following this, I will invite them to put a piece of cake on a small plate, and I will ask the parents to feed the boy or girl the first piece, it is their day, so it is only fitting that they should taste the cake first... Then also around the cake will be a bottle of champagne with usually 3 champagne flutes, I will ask a member of family to come forward and open the bottle of champagne, he will then pour the champagne into each glass, I will then ask the boy or girl, to raise there glass, on my command, toasting to family and relatives / friends and absent relatives friends. I will then ask the parents and boy or girl to hold the glasses together all behind the cake, in order to make a lovely champagne shot..
Special Mannequin Challenge with sweets
This is so much fun. I will get everyone onto the dance floor standing still with there hands held out, I will then go around and try to distract people, and if they are undistracted and do not move, I will put a sweet in there hands.
The Serviette or Bottle Game
The Bottle or Serviette Game is always a lot of fun, everyone is asked to stand, and every table has an empty bottle or serviette, this is then passed from person and person, and when i ask people to stop, the person holding the serviette or bottle on each table is a finalist, all the finalists then come to the front, and then the bottle or serviette is passed from person to person and then winner will receive a gift from the bride or groom. ( Always great with music)
Joining in on the dance floor
I feel as I am a big part of the day, I also feel that I should be soon as joining in at all times.
Top Table Kissing
This is where I invite the children of the opposite sex, to come to the main table, and give the Boy or Girl a kiss, this will bring a nice big smile to their faces....and a lovely memory...
Favour's Ceremony
Favour Bags with advice cards to be left in front of each guest at there tables, these are then filled in by the person , giving the Bar / Bat Mitzvah words of wisdom for the future !! I will then pick some of these cards randomly and read out these messages during dinner...
Limbo Game
The Competition between the boys and girls begin, as the rope lowers lets see who can chimmi, when the rope is at its lowest.
Mum and Bar / Bat Mitzvah game
Lets ask mum 5 questions, and ask the Bar/ Bat Mitzvah the same 5 questions, lets see if they agree or disagree with the same answers or they may differ, great also for guest interaction.
Ten Fun Facts Ceremony
This is a great one, this is where friends and family are given a card on there place settings, they then write some funny facts about the Bar/ Bat Mitzvah and I read them out.
The Chair Game
I ask 7 Volunteers to come forward and to sit on 6 chairs and one person is standing, they are placed on the dance floor or in good view of everyone to see. I will then ask for the volunteers, to first of all, find a pen and then bring it to the front, the last one to get back to there chair is knocked out. I keep doing this with certain items until we get a winner.
Dance Off's
This is where the friends all have a dance of , I put girls on one side of the dance floor, and boys the other , and we have a competition based on 5 dance offs ( It is always nice to see, the audiences reaction, as they will determine the winner of each dance of !!). How about Mum vs Barmitzvah / Batmitzvah. Also we could do this once the boy or girl enters into the room, we could do a little dance off at the beginning of boys vs girls, there is lots of things we can do.
Shaking Hands
I consider it very polite, to shake hands with all guests as they arrive .
Last Dances and Circles
I will get everyone into a nice big circle, I will ask the boy or girl, to around to say goodbye to everyone, I will then announce, the boy and his mother for the last dance, maybe even some sparklers.
Other Duties
These include Coordinating as well as announcing and officiating on the day, Keeping the atmosphere sky high, working closely with all fellow event professionals as a close team and helping them when needed, giving lots of advice at the pre function stage when needed, their is lots more as well as these.
- Making sure the Simcha will be a success, and taking all stresses of parents and family, as well as most importantly ensuring the boy or girl, will have a day to remember for a lifetime..
Other Very Exciting Memorable Touches and Games
I love the Shoe Ceremony, this is when the Bar/ Bat Mitzvah and parents, write a message on the back of the Bar or Bat Mitzvah Shoes, either on the day or prior, and the shoes are put away, and they bring back memories year after year.
The Napkin Game is also lots of fun for all of your guests. contact me to explain more.
I also like the very special ' Bar/ Bat Mitzvah Game ' This is where 10 questions are compiled by myself, I will then ask the guests starting with the first question and all they will answer is either Yes or No. If they say ' Yes ' to the answer, they will put their hands on there heads, if they say ' No ' to the answer, they will put their hands on there backsides. I will then ask the Bar or Bat Mitzvah the question, and all they will answer is ' Yes' or ' No ', if the guests answer is the same as the Bar or Bat Mitzvah, they will stay standing and everyone else will sit down. These questions will carry on until we get a winner, and the winner will receive a special prize from the bar or bat mitzvah.
I also love the Drinks Game .. 3 to 5 Alcoholic drinks are placed next to the Bar or Bat Mitzvah and either there best friend or a parent , with lots of audience noise, the winner will be the person, who can drink them the fastest, lots of fun. ( Always great as the Bar / Bat Mitzvah is the coming of age)..
I love superb Picture Scavenger Hunt
Send your guests on a Mobile phone scavenger hunt by creating a list of 10 Bar/ Bat Mitzvah moments for them to capture with their phones, like:
The Boy or Girl Kissing a guest
Someone taking a shot
A delicious dessert
A group selfie
Parents
Someone crying
and More
Not only does this give your guests a fun activity, you'll end up with even more pictures at the end of the day. You can even encourage guests by telling them that the best photo voted by the Bar or Bat Mitzvah will receive a gift. This way, your guests will go for quality photos, not just quantity, and you'll end up with better snaps. You can also instruct guests who are playing to use your Barmitzvah or Batmitzvah Hashtag , such as #joshBarmy23Jan and post the photos on social media, such as Instagram and Facebook to easily catalog all the fun pictures.
In relation to Events, I have lots of ideas, that will enhance your event, and make it that much more memorable.
